Area Sq partners with the Shooting Star's Children Charity
Commerical interiors specialists, The Fourfront Group, have decided to partner with the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice Charity and are aiming to raise £20,000 in 2009. Based in Hampton, the Charity provides essential care and support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, free of charge, 365 days a year.
The Group has wasted no time in getting behind this challenge and managed to raise a staggering £8,500 at their Christmas party, through a charity auction, raffle and games. The next major fundraising event on the calendar is the Reading Half Marathon where 20 employees have agreed to run to support the Charity.
Clive Lucking, Group Managing Director says "with the rapid expansion of the Fourfront Group, Directors agreed that it was time to give something back to the community and we have decided to support the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice Charity. One can only imagine the pain and suffering that these families have to endure and Shooting Star does an incredible job in providing comfort and care and the most traumatic of times."Clive adds: "Over the next year we aim to raise as much money as possible and this will be achieved through donations, fundraising events, volunteering schemes etc. Our suppliers have been very supportive and provided fantastic prizes which enabled us to raise a significant amount during our Christmas lunch".
Amy White, Corporate Relationship Manager at The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice adds: "with no long term statutory funding, we rely on voluntary donations to fund the £3 million needed each and every year to sustain our care service provision. Therefore the support of the Fourfront Group is truly appreciated and together we can make a real and lasting difference. The money already raised at the Christmas lunch is extraordinary amount, and is such a fantastic result"
