The competitive nature of a few of the team members became fully apparent over the four days of cycling as the pace picked up and the frontrunners averaged an impressive 20mph!
With saddle soreness firmly set in, the team arrived in Paris on day four. As they rounded on the capital, the finish line of the iconic Eiffel Tower came into view. This, coupled with cheers of "Allez, Allez, Allez!" as the team cycled through the Parisian suburbs, gave their tired legs new life as they powered to the finish.
Although the challenge saw both highs and lows, with the odd fall, punctures and some questionable Lycra attire, the sense of achievement was tremendous.
Fourfront Group team originally aimed to raise £13,500 for Shooting Star CHASE, however thanks to the generosity of the company employees, commercial partners, friends and family, they raised a staggering £20,200.00 for the charity.
Amy Chambers, Corporate Partnership Manager at Shooting Star CHASE adds her congratulations: "What started as a mini challenge for Clive, ended up being a fantastic team effort from Fourfront Group. I really am very proud of all of those who took on the London to Paris cycle ride, who have now raised enough money to fund a nurse for one year at Shooting Star CHASE.
Being told your child is dying is just unimaginable but our nurses are there on every step of a family’s journey. Providing much needed care and respite, emotional and practical support and enhancing quality of life with fun times whilst every moment counts. Such care would not be possible without your support.
A big thank you to all of you that participated, helped organise the challenge and also to those who very kindly and generously donated. We send our love and thanks from everyone at Shooting Star CHASE."
