Open Text Corporation, a global leader in Enterprise Content Management relocated from Beaconsfield to a new 24,000 sq ft UK headquarters facility at Thames Valley Park in Reading.
The brief was to create a workspace which allowed greater interaction between customer support, sales, marketing, professional services, training and administration teams. The client also wanted their interior to have an architectural feel as well as represent the company’s personality through a corporate, sleek but understated design.
Carrie Spooner, Designer at Area Sq commented: "The fit-out was completed in 14 weeks and Area Sq and Open Text worked in close partnership throughout the design and building programme in order to achieve the right layout as well as look and feel."
"The client facing areas were particularly important, we had to create the right feel and base the design around the client experience. This included the reception, social hub and hospitality corridor which look inviting, spacious and contemporary. Open Text were also keen to have a dedicated area for training delegates; this was designed as a self-contained space."
Open Text's relocation was an opportunity to focus on new ways of working so bringing everybody together was key to create a synergy between teams. The social hub was designed with a 'Village green feel' in mind where people could meet and interact. Area Sq also introduced different styles of meeting areas from brainstorm rooms to quiet booths, one to one meeting pods and breakout areas to suit every type of meetings away from the large open plan area.
Adrienne Desmeules, Facilities Manager UK, France & Nordics at Open Text Corporation commented: "We are delighted with our new Offices. Area Sq worked closely with us, took on board our culture and created an inspirational office space."
