30,000 sq ft
Coloplast relocated offices to consolidate two offices into one, improving communication between divisions. The office move to their new 35,000 sq ft Headquarters in Peterborough coincided with a major cultural change: Coloplast wanted to adopt a more collaborative approach through an open plan office design with multifunctional space and informal meeting areas.
The finished scheme has certainly the desired wow factor and harnesses both cool and contemporary office design, with a sophisticated corporate feel. The reception area was purposely oversized to give a real sense of arrival and openness. Coloplast commissioned a number of one off art pieces, including the human sculpture in the reception area which undoubtedly sets the tone for the space. The journey continues with quirky features such as fish tanks strategically placed in the reception area, corridor and restaurant.
Coloplast are proud to "make a difference to people’s lives" and as such, the client facing presentation and meeting areas had to demonstrate this message.
The front of house areas were built with flexibility in mind: meeting rooms have folding doors in order to double up as training rooms whenever required. In the impressive boardroom features a bespoke table with black gloss and leather techo chairs, both supplied by Sketch Studios, Area Sq 's sister company.
Nick Buckle, Marketing Communications Manager at Coloplast says: "Area Sq helped us transforming our vision into reality. Their consultative approach enabled us to develop the brief through internal consultations and it resulted in a flexible environment which facilitates new working practices and represents who we are as a company".
