Area Sq have undertaken an office refurbishment at BAA's former working environment at Gatwick Airport into a new state-of-the-art office facility, combining sustainability with audacious office design.
The project took almost a year to complete due to the extent of the works, with 140 BAA Gatwick staff being relocated to nearby offices during the office refurbishment. With the office refurbishment complete, BAA staff now enjoy an array of flexible working spaces, touchdown zones, break-out areas and quiet rooms. They even have spectacular views over the airport runway.
It is an example of how an older building, which has stood the test of time over many decades, can be updated to deliver a contemporary working office environment to support a modern-day workforce.
The refurbishment, over five floors of the building at Gatwick Airport, incorporates a range of energy saving features, resulting in a 35% reduction in energy efficiency and compliance with L2 regulations.
