Area Sq explains.
Area Sq worked closely with the client Finance Director and the Marketing team to not only create a look and feel which truly reflected the company, but to overcome the many challenges the building posed to the Area Sq designers.
James comments: "Striking the right balance between cellular offices and open plan was challenging when ensuring that the limited natural light flowed effectively through the space. Furthermore, the existing lighting system was fitted directly to a concrete ceiling making this a very influential factor in the design of the area."
Area Sq was able to showcase their expertise in air conditioning and air flow systems by building bulkheads with linear grilles to obtain the correct air rates in the additional cellular space Icon required.
The office was finished with designer furniture pieces, including Herman Miller Abak desks finished in white with Oak screens, Vitra Alcove Sofas and Herman Miller Setu chairs finished in white for the meeting rooms. The furniture was supplied by Area Sq’s sister company, Sketch Studios.
