TA Associates is one of the oldest and largest private equity firms in the world, equipped with a $16billion capital base and over 60 investment professionals in Boston, Menlo Park, London, Mumbai and Hong Kong.
The firm wanted to maximise the efficiency and potential of their existing offices in Knightsbridge and appointed Area Sq to carry out the in situ design and refurbishment project.
The scope of works included creating additional meeting rooms, an executive style shower and toilet facilities as well as increasing the number of offices.
Amanda Godwin-Jones, Design Director at Area Sq, comments, "It was important that we carried the existing design ethos through so we could create a seamless transition between the existing and new schemes. To this end, we matched all veneers, fabrics and carpets to ensure consistency."
This approach created its own challenges, as certain materials had to be sourced from the US, having an impact on lead times. Area Sq resolved this issue through their efficient programming and continuous communication with the client.
The final scheme maximises the use of space whilst, giving TA Associates a coherent and professional environment which reflects their company’s personality.
