With their headquarters in Chester, moneysupermarket.com, the price comparison website, wanted to develop a London presence with the specific objective of creating a suitable hot-desking and meeting lounge environment for their clients.

Area Sq was appointed at the early stages of the project to carry out a building feasibility study and space planning exercise.
Area Sq immersed itself in the client’s brand and personality in order to create an environment which was functional, creative and consistent with their corporate image.

Kathryn O'Callaghan, Lead Designer at Area Sq comments, "We wanted to retain the character of the building and achieved this by restoring the original features such as the exposed brick wall and wooden floor. The incorporation of a bespoke fabric panelled wall gives a modern twist to the design."

The scheme incorporates elements with a residential feel, including sheer curtains and soft fabrics, giving the space a relaxed and contemporary feel. The furniture, supplied by Area Sq's sister company Sketch Studios, includes James Burleigh benching and Vitra chairs.

When asked about the project, Alan Cairns, Human Resources Director at moneysupermarket.com adds, "I’ve enjoyed working with Area Sq, through a planned, creative and innovative design concept they have managed to bring to life the moneysupermarket brand. The creation of this space helps us meet our providers in London as well as providing a base for our London based staff. The feedback is universally positive."
