Centerbridge Partners LP is a private investment firm focused on leveraged buyouts and distressed securities.
Centerbridge wanted to set up a flagship UK office which had synergy with their New York office whilst taking on a European look and feel. The office also needed to provide a platform for future expansion.
Area Sq took inspiration from Centerbridge's New York office and gave the aesthetic principles a subtle twist, replacing aged bronze for highly polished bronze surfaces to signal new growth. The addition of anigre joinery porcelain floors and recessed detailing created an elegant environment with a contemporary edge.
Clare Bradshaw, Senior Designer at Area Sq designed the reception at an angle to invite light in and give a unique feel. Glass, stonewall and a mirrored reception desk were used to achieve a welcoming and luxurious space.
Furniture provided by Sketch Studios, Area Sq's sister company, included the B&B Italia Leather Mart Chair in reception - a sculptural piece used to soften the architecture of the space.
Sarah Banbury, Office Manager at Centerbridge says, "Not only did Area Sq listen to our requirements, but their response, turnaround and unique ideas stole the show. Details and finishes were scrutinized to a degree that only a finely trained eye could pick up. The site was always immaculate and always very organised. Our project was completed successfully and sometimes I look back in wonder at how it was achieved and the answer is Area Sq."
