Byrne and Partners LLP were keen to relocate offices from Clerkenwell to The City and use the office move as an opportunity to change the culture of the practice. Byrne & Partners wanted to move away from their existing dark cellular offices in favour of a brighter open plan area.
Essential parts of the brief included maximum use of natural light, vast storage space for thousands of case studies and a large modern reception which could double-up as an area to host client entertainment functions.
Kat Wickens, Designer at Area Sq, commented: "The buy-in from Byrne & Partners LLP was fantastic and made the project much easier and enjoyable."
Kat adds, "To make use of the natural light included glass frontage to all the meeting rooms as well as a glossy ceramic floor throughout the reception area. We also created a curved front of house which gave the client the extra space needed in the reception to host events."
In reference to the challenge of storage space, Kat explains, "Unlike the competition, Area Sq used roller racking pushed to the perimeter walls to allow natural light and flow through the space for the office staff. This feature, in conjunction with a case study library, more than satisfied the storage requirements."
