The Fourfront Group gains official ISO14001 accreditation
The Fourfront Group is delighted to now be officially ISO14001 accredited after nearly two years of developing a robust Environmental Management System (EMS).
In order to gain the accreditation the commerical interior specialists' in-house Environmental Management Team developed an EMS that met the stringent ISO14001 standards and complied with applicable regulations. They showed an extensive understanding of the Group's environmental impact and proved how they had greatly reduced these. The most significant environmental impact was identified as waste to landfill and the Group had to demonstrate effective waste management on all sites and to this end, created recycle and reuse programmes.
The Group has also implemented training for its subcontractors bringing them to the recognised BS8555 environmental standard and created a conservation volunteering scheme in partnership with the Forestry Commission.
Fourfront has become carbon neutral through partnering with Moor Trees, a Dartmoor based charity, which invites employees to planting weekends using trees acquired for offsetting.
The Group was officially accredited by VCA who are certified by UKAS (the UK governing body), ensuring the Group met the actual requirements of ISO14001.
Clive Lucking, Group Managing Director says "I am very proud of what our in-house Environmental Management Team has managed to achieve, and gaining the official ISO14001 accreditation through a UKAS certified auditor means that our accreditation will be recognised by both private and public organisations."
Clive Lucking adds "In the last two years the Group's environment credentials have grown exponentially in response to our client's expectations and needs, and we aim to continue developing these and maintain our position as an environmentally sound commercial fit-out Group."
Mike Arrigoni, VCA Auditor said "The feedback regarding the environmental awareness of everybody spoken to, whether on site or in the offices, was outstanding. The communication system was one of the best I have ever seen."
