Area Sq Sales Director, Oliver Hammond, speaks at the London FM Conference 2010

The 2010 London FM Conference is an important industry forum showcasing best practice in and values in Facilities Management. Now in its second successful year, it was hosted at 15 Hatfields, SE1 by The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) who provide information, education, training and networking services to professionals and organisations and London First the business membership organisation which works to make London the best city in the world in which to do business.

Leading figures in the FM world took part in the one day conference.  In addition to a full programme of industry speakers, the event offered many networking opportunities with other senior FM professionals and a number of exhibitors were present to assist delegates in sourcing new products and services.

A variety of experts were asked to address the delegates on issues facing the Facilities Managers and Oliver Hammond, Sales Director of Area Sq was delighted to be invited to speak about 'Office Design Trends Affecting the Contemporary Working Environment'.  He examined the most prevalent influences on office design and put forward that the most successful workplace environments are those that have evolved through a methodical design process. He stated that people, information technology, flexible open plan working arrangements and aesthetics were key in creating places which facilitate the sharing of ideas and knowledge. He also considered the overarching issue of the current economic climate and how space rationalisation could alleviate some of these pressures.

Pavan Virdee, London First said 'Today has been really successful and the industry expert speakers have helped us fulfill our aim to promote best practice and showcase the value the Facility Management profession adds to many organisations.'
